Welcome

Our Lady Queen of Heaven Council 6806 would like to extend a warm welcome to the newly elected officers for the upcoming year.  With the election, members will probably see a new and emerging direction starting to take place and unfold for the future of this Council.
There are a couple of primary areas that will be tackled in the upcoming months.  One area of concern is communication.  The Council has taken a bold step into the technological future of the Council by approving and implementing a Web site.  See Article "Web Site".  Another area of concern is member participation.  See Article "Mary's Army".  Other

items to be addressed are financial concerns such as raising capital for Council projects; updating and purchasing laptop computers, LCD projector and other needed items; more involvement in social events,  awards, youth and teen organizations including starting up a squires group;  modifying the monthly breakfast schedule to involve the Saturday evening mass and other various other items.
Membership, recruitment and lecturer positions are open and require your support.
The Council Officers would welcome ideas, suggestions and input in regards to making this a dynamic Council!

Big Thanks to Frank McFall  in undertaking and finishing this project.

A Catholic Gentleman--Being in Mary's Army

I became a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Parish sometime in 1994 and have been a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6806 for a couple of years now.  Prior to that, I was actively involved with a national four-wheeling organization that was also organized as a volunteer, non-profit entity.  Both organizations have similar problems such as financial concerns and

raising capital; member participation; meeting attendance and etc.  I have been told that we have about 100 active members within our Council, but yet at our monthly meetings, it is rare that our attendance tops 12 members.  At most of the Council's events, it is usually the same members that turn out and support the Council.
This had been bothering me   for quite some time because I

had tried virtually everything I could think of, with the past off-roading organization, to garner more involvement of the members with little or no success.  Sadly, after talking with officers of the Council, this Council has the exact same problems that are inherent with other volunteer groups.
